Inspection and Testing

All installations require regular testing.

Generally, this is every 10 years for domestic installations.

Rented installations require testing more frequently usually at least every 5 years or on change of tenancy. 

Churches and other industrial installations require testing every 3 years. 

Although there are few statutory obligations to test installations many insurance companies make it a condition of coverage.

The cost of testing is entirely dependent on the size of the installation and ranges from a little over £100 for a small domestic installation up to £1000 or more for a large church installation.
